Daihatsu to Exhibit its Latest Mini Welfare Vehicles at Barrier Free 2017
Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “Daihatsu”) will exhibit its mini welfare vehicles at Barrier Free
2017, the largest general welfare exhibition in western Japan. Barrier Free 2017, which proposes
comfortable lifestyles for the elderly and the disabled, will be held from April 20 to 22 at INTEX OSAKA
(Nanko-kita, Suminoe-ku, Osaka).
Daihatsu’s Friendship series features a rich line-up of six models that add outstanding welfare functions
with high satisfaction ratings to two attractive base models: the Tanto, which combines a spacious
interior with the Miracle Open Door for easy entering and exiting; and the Move, with its significantly
enhanced basic performance. The highly regarded Friendship series boasts the largest1 share of the
mini welfare vehicle market.
At this year’s Barrier Free exhibition, Daihatsu will exhibit and introduce the different functions and
characteristics of a total of seven vehicles. These include the Tanto Sloper and Tanto Welcome Seat,
both of which were equipped with the advanced safety equipment Smart Assist III during their partial
upgrades in November 2016. In addition, the Daihatsu booth has prepared a program that will provide
visitors with hands-on experiences such as demonstrations involving actual vehicles, and
physiotherapist-led cognitive function improvement exercises.
